AMC 396029 unpatented 40 acre mining claim

STANTON, ARIZONA

Located just a short ride off Stanton Rd, the Red Gold claim has pretty easy access with a jeep trail running through it.  Two wheel drive access most of the time.  It is located in the alluvial fan of the Weaver Mountains just a short distance from the base of the mountain.  The quartz you find is weathered out of the veins higher on the mountain that have been productively mine.  The gold in the area ranges from fines and course to specimens.  The gold in this area tends to have a red hue to it when it's close to the source from the iron also found in the veins.  It has an intermittent stream through it.  Drywashing, recirculating sluice, and metal detecting are all methods I'd use for gold recovery here.
